About the Artist

Chad was raised hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods, rivers, and barrier islands of the Georgia Low Country. Being reared in a large community of outdoor sportsmen created a treasure chest of experiences and memories he shares with family and friends. The timeless beauty of the marsh lined creeks and cypress bottoms sunk into the palmetto ridges were a beautiful backdrop to all of these memories. Chad started retelling these stories when he picked up a paint brush for the first time at the age of 41. A self-taught oil and acrylic artist, Chad uses every brushstroke to focus on the fine details that make these stories come to life for the viewer. Whether hunting a spring gobbler on the banks of the Satilla River, bowhunting for white-tailed bucks in the fall, or fishing for speckled sea trout, flounder, and redfish in a saltwater creek, these paintings are meant to be a book of stories of the life and soul of the southern sportsman. The hope is they will stir the memory of a hunt, a fishing trip, or just a particular moment forged with loved ones in this special place of unrivalled beauty.
